M-Audio's M-Track series is a line of all-metal audio interfaces equipped with a USB-C connector. Not only are they incredibly durable and stylish, they're also future-proof, ready to be plugged into a modern Mac or Windows laptop. Don't worry, though, the M-Track interfaces are also compatible with USB-A. The M-Track 2x2M (24 bits, 192 kHz) is the next step after the M-Track Solo; instead of one microphone input and one instrument input, this interface has a double microphone input on the back, but you can also opt to use the instrument inputs on the front instead.

Two microphones or instruments

The M-Audio M-Track 2x2M registers whether you've plugged in a microphone or an instrument such as an electro-acoustic guitar, and automatically selects the right input. This external sound card is great for musicians with a setup with two microphones (two singers, for instance, or a guitarist who records using two mics), and allows you to plug in your musical instrument directly. Naturally, it's also possible to record one microphone and one instrument at the same time. Thanks to its 48V phantom power supply, this interface is suitable for dynamic and condenser microphones alike.

Outputs and MIDI

Many musicians and producers still use equipment with 5-pin MIDI connectors. To connect that kind of gear to your computer, however, you need a MIDI interface. Fortunately, the M-Track 2x2M has one on board: the MIDI IN/OUT allows you to exchange MIDI signals with your computer. Additionally, you also have balanced line outputs at your disposal, which will send an interference-free signal to your monitor speakers. Finally, there's also a headphone output with a latency-free direct monitoring option and its own volume control.
