This Focusrite Saffire PRO 26 is a unique audio interface that can be used with FireWire and Thunderbolt. On the back you'll find four microphone inputs, the first two of which are also available on the front in jack format. There are also two line inputs and a total of six line outputs. Of course, all of this has been made with the famous Focusrite quality you're looking for, and it features award-winning Saffire preamps. You'll find that the AD/DA conversion is absolutely sublime, and it works at 24 bits, with a maximum of 96 kHz.
Focusrite Saffire PRO 26: one of a kind
Focusrite has set a new industry standard with this interface. Six analogue inputs, 8 ADAT input and a stereo S-PDIF input give you the ability to make high-quality recordings of a wide variety of signals. Furthermore, the AD/DA converters are equipped with JetPLL jitter-reduction technology, which gives the interface a nice, detailed sound. Two headphone outputs are at your disposal, making it easy to work the interface with a partner. Additionally, you'll find that the six line outputs are all equipped with a stereo S-PDIF output. All of this is controlled via the clever Saffire Mix Control application, included with your purchase, which allows you to easily route and control all of the inputs and outputs.
Stand-alone
Another handy feature of the Saffire Pro 26 is that it can also work as a stand-alone device. If you choose this option, you can use the preamps controlling a multi-track recorder, for instance, or you can use the device as a headphone amplifier. LED VU meters have also been built into the device to offer a comprehensive overview of the incoming and outgoing signals. With so many features, you'd expect a huge device, but Focusrite has kept it compact and easy to transport. It can also be powered via FireWire so you don't have to take a separate power supply with you.
