Apogee Ensemble Thunderbolt: pro-interface
The first thing you'll probably notice about this interface is that the latency is just 1.1 ms because of the Thunderbolt connectivity with Mac. This opens up all kinds of new possibilities, like monitoring your musicians via your DAW for instance. It utilises top-notch AD/DA converters and preamps that can also be found in Apogee's higher-end audio interfaces. The preamps are equipped with Soft Limit technology that adds a warm tape-like warmth to your input at high signal values.
Applications
This interface was specifically designed for the heart of your studio, where the magic happens. The Apogee Ensemble is ideal for professional studios, but would fit right into a home studio as well. At just 1U, it's also compact enough for mobile recordings and even broadcasting applications. You don't even need a monitor controller - that's been integrated into the Ensemble and even features a built-in talkback mic!

De kwaliteit is gewoon goed, en ook communicatie met externe apparaten verloopt easy. De software heeft wel eens wat gehaperd maar is intussen weer stabiel, hier heeft Apogee op geupdate.
Let wel even op dat het de intussen 'oude' thunderbolt versie betreft, voor de nieuwe macbooks heb je een verloopje nodig. Maar ook daarmee werkt het goed. De doorlinkmogelijkheid is ook handig, je kunt het volgende apparaat ook via thunderbolt weer aansluiten (bijvoorbeeld een scherm)
