Yamaha has developed this RGX220DZ to provide beginning shredders and metal guitarists with an affordable speed devil equipped for rougher guitar work. This electric guitar is made to deliver big doses of gain and distortion, and as such is equipped with two high-output humbuckers and a Floyd Rose tremolo bridge for screaming swoops. The alder body of the Yamaha RGX220DZ gives the guitar a tight, balanced sound, and the fast, slim neck with a practically flat 24-fret fingerboard is any technical guitarist's dream.

Yamaha RGX220DZ SBK: powerful humbuckers

Hard rock and metal require that powerful humbucker sound, and that's why the Yamaha RGX220DZ is equipped with two wicked tight ceramic humbucker pickups. They're first and foremost great for an aggressive sound, and even when used for the most high-gain distortions they stay tight and clear. The RGX220DZ is also equipped with volume and tone adjustment, and you can use the 3-way pickup switch to choose between the bright, clear sound of the bridge pickup or the deeper sound of the neck humbucker. The middle switch setting gives you a combination of the two pickups for great cleans.

Floyd Rose tremolo bridge

The bridge of the Yamaha RGX220DZ is a double-locking Floyd Rose licensed tremolo. This bridge can tilt forward and back, giving you the ability to influence the tone height with the included tremolo handle for excellent vibrato effects. Clamping mechanisms in the bridge saddles and by the nut keep the strings solidly in place, which in turn keeps the guitar in optimal tuning no matter how hard you play. When you do need to tune, you can do this with the six round fine-tuners on the bridge.
