Looking for a bang-up-to-date, 8-string electric guitar that offers optimum value for your hard-earned money? You'd best take a closer look at the attainable Boden Standard Series NX 8 by the Sweden-based Strandberg Guitars. Since the scale length of eight-string graduates from 26.5 to 28 inches, the thinner strings are never too tight while the thicker strings remain easy to intonate in a lower pitch. To guarantee ample playing comfort, the weight of the average NX 8 has been kept down to 2.7kg, but the solid yet lightweight basswood body also comes with snug arm and torso carves. And, as with all Boden Standard Series models, a Strandberg standard gig bag, NX multi-tool and hex key are included as part of the deal.
The Boden Standard NX 8: EndurNeck for Comfort and Control
Like all real Strandbergs, this Indonesian-made model also features the patented EndurNeck profile so you can keep your thumb, hand and wrist in the correct and most comfortable position at all times. Not only that, the new sculpted neck joint heel at the pocket of the bolt-on EndurNeck offers unrestricted access up the highest stainless steel fret, while the seriously reliable .strandberg* EGS Rev 7 fixed bridge keeps all eight strings firmly in tune. Lastly, so it can fully cover the extended range, the Boden Standard NX 8 comes armed with two custom soapbar humbucker pickups and a 5-way pickup switch.
