The Squier Standard Stratocaster is an attractively priced guitar for both novice and advanced guitarists. Contrary to the Bullet and Affinity Strats, the Squier Standard Stratocaster features a full-size body with the same dimensions as Fender's Stratocaster. Its player-friendly properties include a fretboard with 22 frets and a slender neck. The Squier Standard Stratocaster has a spotless finish and a great Strat sound thanks to its alnico pickups.

Construction:

To keep the price of this Squier Standard Stratocaster at a reasonable level, its body is made of agathis, a type of wood that has tonal properties similar to mahogany. Contrary to the traditionally used alder, agathis is available in copious amounts in Asia, so the savings is in the transport rather than the quality of the wood. Just like the Fender American Standard Strat, this Squier is equipped with a floating two-point tremolo, which means that the vibrato unit is mounted to the body with two screws and that the tremolo arm can be pressed both upwards and downwards. This version has a maple neck with a maple fretboard that adds extra sparkle to the instrument's overall sound.

It wouldn't be fair to call this Candy Apple Red Squier a good starter guitar (even though it is), because it's so much more than that. Squier Standards are also a common sight in the hands of professional guitarists as a backup guitar or to prevent damaging their precious Fenders. The alnico pickups ensure that the sound of your Squier pierces through the mix excellently while the stable tremolo unit and rugged tuners ensure that the instrument retains its tuning.
