Ibanez fans know that the Japanese factory is where the famous brand manufactures their highest-quality instruments. With its 24 rounded, polished jumbo frets, this guitar is a prime example of the attention to detail these models display. As such, these guitars make up the Prestige series, and this model, the RG652FX in Galaxy Black is part of that. Besides showcasing expert craftsmanship, this Prestige guitar was made using only the very best wood types. Finally, the RG652FX comes complete with a matching hardshell case.

RG652FX: balanced sound

The lightweight RG body is made of basswood, which gives the RG652FX a balanced core sound with a nice growl in the mid-range. A solid five-piece neck made of maple and walnut, with a slim Super Wizard HP profile, is connected to the body via four bolts. Together with the rosewood fretboard, it adds a nicely rounded bite to the acoustic base provided by the body. In addition, the 24 Prestige treated Jumbo frets give sublime comfort to the quick and smooth playability of the RG652K.

Gibraltar Standard II and DiMarzio pickups

The Ibanez RG652FX-GB has a Gibraltar Standard II bridge. This fixed bridge is specially designed to allow an optimum transfer of string vibrations to the body, as well as providing high tuning stability and great sustain. What's more, the flat surface of the Gibraltar bridge saddles also enhance playing comfort. The Ibanez RG652FX is fitted with DiMarzio pickups. An Air Norton humbucker can be found at the neck for a well-defined yet warm sound with a high output. At the bridge, an equally high-output Tone Zone humbucker produces a dynamic sound with rounded trebles and very deep, rich mid-tones.
