The Gretsch G5425 Electromatic Jet Club Solid Body has a chambered body topped with a solid slice of arched maple, meaning there are cavities inside but no semi-hollowbody-style f-holes. This bracing technique not only reduces the weight, it grants the guitar a forceful foundation sound and lots of volume. A lightweight contender packing a powerful punch, the G5425 Electromatic Jet Club combines classic looks with modern design elements like the black finish of the body, the offsetting chrome-plated hardware, the pearloid scratchplate and the neo-classic thumbnail position markers of the rosewood fretboard.
That Great Gretsch Sound
A duo of Gretsch Dual-Coil Humbuckers capture the sound of the pre-installed D’Addario Nickel Plated Steel strings and come accompanied by a 3-way pickup switch and a volume-plus-tone pot. Just like the controls, the sound of the G5425 Electromatic Jet Club is simply straight up. The maple top pulls the tones from the chambered body, pours on the resonance and leaves warm sound and a loads of sustain.
