Allmänt
Based on one of the prototypes designed by Leo Fender in the early fifties, the Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1950 Double Esquire unearths everything that made the original so groundbreaking. To complete the full vintage experience, this exclusive model has been dipped in Faded Aged Nocaster Blonde paint before being given the full Heavy Relic treatment, making this six-string look like a seasoned touring guru with decades of hard-won experience behind it. Beneath the weathered looks, a two-piece ash body complete with period-correct offset seam and single-ply black fenol pickguard frame a pair of Custom Shop Hand-Wound '50/'51 Blackguard pickups.
The Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1950 Double Esquire Heavy Relic: That Early Tele Feel
A lot of the featured details don't just give you an insight into the history of the early Telecaster, but are enough to slap a big grin on the faces of even the most demanding Tele purists. The already snug feel of the rift-sawn maple neck is enhanced by the compound fretboard radius, which warps from 7.25 inches at the headstock to 9.5 inches at the body. Instead of a tone pot, the 1950 Double Esquire supplies a specialised blend pot that you can use to find the perfect mix of both pups. A one-off on every possible level, this throwback wonder of a collector's item comes complete with a Fender Deluxe hardshell case, a strap and a Certificate of Authenticity.
