Allmänt
You no longer need to be a wealthy collector to enjoy the sound, playability and looks of an old Fender guitar. The American Vintage series editions are based on Fender's most coveted, classic guitar models and were most accurately copied. This '64 Telecaster for instance, has all the characteristic features of the iconic 1964 Tele. From the logo on its headstock to the bridge saddles, if you didn't know any better you'd think it came from a time capsule. Even the distinctive grey bottom pickups were made of the right materials and wound by the exact specifications and sound of the original. The American Vintage '64 Telecaster is available in three classic Fender colours: 3-tone Sunburst, Lake Placid Blue and this Aged White Blonde version.
American Vintage '64 Telecaster: a spitting image
Half way through the sixties, popular music went through some drastic changes and so did the Telecaster. Guitarists demanded for a more comfortable, narrower neck and a slightly warmer sound. Fender responded by replacing the thick, one-piece maple necks of the fifties models by one with a rounder C-profile and a thin, curved rosewood fretboard. The American Vintage '64 Telecaster has all of these authentic features and more, like the 8-hole, three-layer white pickguard, the staggered magnets of the bridge pickup, the Top Hat style switch tip and the three threaded steel bridge saddles. These bridge saddles allow you to make the string spacing bigger or smaller for optimal playing comfort. Lastly, Fender also reproduced the original case and period-correct case candy.
American Vintage series: more accurate than ever before
Along with the American Standard series, Fender decided to give the 2012 American Vintage series a massive update. It has been expanded with new, iconic '50s and '60s models that have a minute vintage accuracy. To get to this point, the guitar giant tracked down and studied specs and details of numerous original vintage guitars. Fender even brushed off the tools of the period to make the result as authentic as possible. There's a good reason that these new models represent Fender's famed, 60-year long history in music.
