Many fans of Fender's Mustang dream of owning a real American model. Now that dream can come true thanks to Fender's attractively-priced American Performer series that's made in Corona, California. This Mustang has Yosemite single-coil pickups with flat staggered poles. They deliver a surprisingly high output and the dynamics in your playing come through very clearly too. The pickups also have a shellac coating that prevents any problems with feedback.

American Performer Mustang: 3-way pickup switch and Greasebucket tone circuit

This Mustang is equipped with a 3-way pickup switch and potentiometers for the volume and the tone so that you can find just the right sound. There's also a Greasebucket Tone circuit that gives you more control over the higher frequencies without adding any extra bass.

Playing comfort

Bolted on to the alder body is a maple neck that has a modern C profile and a satin-gloss finish, while the rosewood fretboard has a 9.5-inch radius and 22 jumbo frets. These features make this Mustang comfortable to play. The Mustang bridge's saddles ensure the strings stay in place no matter how hard you play this offset electric guitar and there's a tremolo that allows you to easily add extra expression to your playing as well. Thanks to the ClassicGear machine heads that have a vintage look, this model has excellent tuning stability too.
