With its arched flamed maple top, Floyd Rose tremolo with D-Tuna and zebra-coloured Wolfgang humbuckers, this guitar looks suspiciously like an American EVH. It's yours for a considerably lower price, however, as this model was made in Mexico. If you want the looks, sound and feel of a real Eddie Van Halen signature guitar, but aren't able to spend a massive amount of money, this affordable EVH Wolfgang Special is the perfect solution. It comes in various colours, including this Natural edition with its gorgeous flamed maple top.

EVH Wolfgang Special: the characteristic Eddie Van Halen sound

The Wolfgang has a compact, asymmetrical body with short horns, made of basswood, which ensures a pleasantly low weight and a decent tone. Like the more expensive models, this Wolfgang Special has an arched top with a beautiful flamed maple finish. The neck of the EVH guitar is also made of maple and has been treated with oil for a satin-soft, smooth feel. The maple fingerboard has been fitted with 22 jumbo frets and has a compound radius that ranges from 12 inches at the nut to 16 inches towards the body.

Floyd Rose tremolo and Wolfgang humbuckers

The EVH Wolfgang Special is equipped with a Floyd Rose double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut, which allow for the most outrageous vibrato effects and dive bombs without detuning your instrument. An EVH D-Tuna system enables you to tune the guitar to Drop D with a single hand movement. Last but not least, the EVH Wolfgang humbuckers of the Wolfgang Special are able to produce a massive amount of overdrive and sustain, but can also produce a nice clean tone once you turn the volume down.
