Allmänt
Sympathetic to the more considerate drummer, Alesis have designed their most quiet electronic drum kit to date. The DM10 MKII Pro comes with an 8" kick drum pad, a 12" snare, two 10" toms, and two 12" toms, all fitted with specially developed, ultra-quiet black mesh-heads and set up in the so-called two-up-two-down configuration. A 12" hi-hat, two 14" crashes and a triple-zone 16" ride are also included to complete an immense set-up that can be personalised at will.
The Alesis DM10 MKII Pro
A solid and smoothly assembled Quick Lock Rack holds the kit securely together, and Alesis have been kind enough to throw in a 'RealHat' hi-hat pedal, a snare stand, all the cabling you'll need, and a cable binders to complete a tight set-up. They even give you a set of sticks, leaving you to pick out your preferred drum throne and kick pedal. Once set up, the playing feel of this kit comes pretty close to that of an acoustic kit which has a lot to do with how the mesh-heads are tuned. While you can't tune the pitch of the heads, what you can do is adjust the rebound response - so the tighter the skin, the bigger the rebound.
A Mass of Potential
Because this kit is so quiet, it's the obvious go-to home-rehearsal kit. The module also offers a nice stack of practice-friendly functions, including various preprogrammed songs to play along with, a recording function, and an AUX input so that your own playback device can be hooked up. You can even slot a USB stick into the provided port, and to take things a step or two further, the module can be connected directly to a computer and used as a MIDI controller for software like Logic, Garageband, Cubase, Reason, or Ableton. A pair of stage-ready 6.3mm jack outputs has also been fitted.
