The Takamine GN71CE is available in two finishes: natural and Brown Sunburst. This steel-string guitar might have an average price but delivers a high-end performance! It has Takamine's NEX-sized soundbox, similar to that of a mini Jumbo or a Triple O. The GN71CE has a cutaway for easier access to the highest frets and can be used acoustically as well as amplified, thanks to a built-in pickup and comprehensive preamplifier.

Construction and Details of the GN71CE

This steel-string GN71CE features a solid-top, spruce construction with laminated rosewood back and sides and the comfortable, mahogany neck features a 20-fret rosewood fretboard. This combination of wood types and body style results in a full, defined sound with deep basses and sparkling trebles. To deliver optimal intonation and clarity from the first to the last fret, the bridge is split in two and placed at a certain angle. The GN71CE features a stylish, mother-of-pearl rosette, elegant position markers in the fretboard and maple bindings along the soundhole, neck and headstock.

Fitted with Takamine's comprehensive TK-40D preamplifier, the GN71CE delivers great performances when amplified. This preamp offers volume control, a 3-band EQ that can be switched on and off and with the Mid Contour control, you can boost the mid frequencies (400 Hz) for more punch and a rounder attack. If any feedback occurs, the Notch Filter is an essential function that searches for the frequency that is causing it and filters it out. You also have a built-in auto-chromatic tuner with LED display to keep your tuning in check.
