This natural coloured Yamaha NTX700 is an electro-acoustic classical guitar with many qualities of a western guitar. The smaller neck and thinner body are equipped with nylon strings giving you the easy playability of a steel-string guitar with the tone of a classical/Spanish guitar. Additionally, the neck is attached to the body at the 14th fret which, combined with the cutaway, makes it easier to reach the 22nd fret. The NTX700 has a full sound and strong projection, and is suited for a variety of styles such as latin, jazz, rock and pop. What's more, this attractive guitar is equipped with ART pickups and a System61 preamplifier which amplifies the nylon strings with precision and detail.

The improved wood of the NTX-700

The most important factor in an acoustic guitar's sound is the top, which is why the NTX-700 has such a full, powerful sound. Spruce was used to fashion the solid top, with adds additional balance and clarity to this instrument's tone. The rest of the guitar is fashioned from nato (commonly referred to as eastern mahogany) for its deep, warm sound and its high tones. Another important detail is Yamaha's choice to equip its NTX series with the special Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (ARE). ARE is wood reforming technology that gives the guitar a warm, mature sound that you would normally only get from an instrument that's been played for years!

The System61 preamp

The amplification of the NTX 700 is produced by two pickups and a preamp. These advanced ART pickups pick the sound directly up from the top rather than from the strings so that the amplified sound stays true to the original acoustic intonation. You don't have to worry about distortion either, because these pickups easily adapt to sudden changes in dynamics. Use the 3-band equalizer to influence the overall colour of the tone. With the 2-way ART system the volume of the lows and highs can also be very easily adjusted! Finally, the System61 preamp is equipped with a tuner with display so you can tune your guitar anywhere.
