Allmänt

Meinl once again delivered an excellent product with the HDJ5-M Headliner series medium djembe. This traditional-looking djembe's 20-inch deep shell was decorated by hand and carved from a single piece of mahogany for an optimal sound. Even the 10-inch drumhead is of the highest quality, as it was made of goatskin and carefully hand-selected before it was mounted on the djembe.

Traditional techniques

The head is kept in place by means of an ancient Malinese weaving technique that keeps its tone consistent. It features extra durable, 4mm-thick nylon ropes, and eighteen runners evenly spread the tension on the drumhead, which adds to the instrument's warm sound. All in all, this is a solid djembe with a gorgeous look and a traditional sound. A great addition to any djembe player's arsenal.
