Pioneer DJ DDJ-1000 + Pioneer DM-40 monitor speakerset

Was abit sceptical after reading some reviews on trust pilot if I'm honest but anyway I bought the DDJ 1000 friday night and received it on Monday morning, very quick to say it came from Holland over all very happy customer.

I bought these speakers to replace a pair of Creative T20 speakers I use at work. I only use a small stereo DAB rabio as the source but adding these speakers gives me a sound that I can hear clearly and precisely in a very noisy fabrication department. You defiantly get a lot of bang for your buck I would highly recommend.

5 stars for the controller, 3 stars for Rekordbox. After a lot of research I moved over from Numark & went for the DDJ-1000. The jog wheels are full size & good replicas of the Nexus 2000s. The 4 channel mixer has allowed me to move up a notch & I would recommend paying the extra for the two channels. Overall it has a quality feel to it, with plenty of functionality to match any style of DJing. Rekordbox on the other hand needs lots of processing power & memory. I have an I5 dual core processor & had to upgrade it to prevent freezing. 4Gb RAM is not enough you need at least 8Gb & I had to swap my hard drive to an SSD. When running you need to disconnect the wifi, disable the security & ensure nothing else is running. This has solved the problem. On the plus side it is a powerful piece of software & gives Serato a run for its money. Pioneer need to make the software slicker, I suspect there is some bloated code in it. As for Bax great service would recommend anytime - thanks guys.

Was in months of uncertainty around do I go USB controller or this. ... whilst I DJ out on USB it’s nice to have 4 channel mixer for sure good vaule with a club feel for home use and the odd local more intermate gig! Great controller can’t fault it . Only down side if I had to pick one is the track name is not snow on the job wheels whilst everything else is!

I was dubious about going for a controller, I started DJing in 91 on vinyl then switched to digital around 2008. My CDJ 1000s were old and well used. To be honest I couldn’t afford Nexus 2000s so I went for the ddj 1000. I had never owned a controller before mainly because they had the smaller touch sensitive jog wheels and didn’t feel like the equipment I use when I playout or do my radio show. In the end I bit the bullet and bought myself a ddj 1000... I TOTALLY LOVE THIS! It feels like 2000s, jog wheels and pitch controls wise then it essentially has a djm 900 in the middle with the same lay out, volumes, eqs and fx. The new cross fader on it actually feels nicer than the djm 900 and although the unit is made of plastic it doesn’t feel “plasticky” Out of all the controllers I’ve tried this one feels the most like the equipment you’re going to find in venues and radio stations. It would have been nice if it was stand alone and used usb’s But it’s no biggie plugging my MacBook in and you get the FULL version of Rekordbox so it’s super easy to use. You get a lot of info on the ddj 1000s screens and it’s not overwhelming on a small display but you will still need to look at the computer screen sometimes. To sum up (for me) this is THE best controller on the market!! If you want something that will feel the same as the equipment you will be performing on at gigs without the nexus price tag this is the one to go for. It feels the same as the top of the range cdj’s and has the industry standard mixer in the middle all for £1000. This is going to sit in my studio and not go anywhere so the fact it’s quite big and not stand alone isn’t a problem for me. It may be a little large if you’re a mobile dj but the size is another bonus for me as it feels spacious (I found a lot of the range felt cramped). I would recommend it to any dj.
