If there's one thing that the German ENGL amps are famous for, it's their rich sound with great overdrive. And, there's great news for anyone who doesn't own one of those amps, but would still like to have its sound at their disposal: the Reaper distortion pedal. The German company has released a whole line of effects pedals, and this distortion pedal may very well be the most interesting one. It manages to capture the unique sound of a big ENGL amp in a small pedal. This is partly thanks to the people at the Russian Yerasov company.

Don't fear the Reaper

The ENGL Reaper allows you to fine-tune your sound until it's just right, using the 3-band equalizer (bass, mid, treble). Furthermore, you can easily adjust the amount of overdrive the effect provides, ranging from a slight edge to a wildly wailing solo squeal. Finally, using the volume knob, you can decide whether or not to unleash the ENGL's full power on your amplifier. Just add a bit of reverb or delay, and you'll have a classic sound at your disposal that's great for any style that falls under the rock umbrella.
