It doesn't matter if you play single notes or full chords, the sound of this Mad Professor-made stompbox remains fully rich and dynamic at all times, even hooked up to a self-distorting amplifier. That means that plugged into the clean channel, you should expect a nicely balanced, warm tone with a touch of fuzz. Also, since it's a high-quality true bypass pedal, the Amber Overdrive won't affect your foundation sound when it's switched off.

The Amber Overdrive: Potentiometers

When set to dead-centre, the Drive pot fitted to the Amber Overdrive allows you to determine the distortion rate using the volume control of your guitar. In addition, the Tone pot serves as a shelving equalizer for the highs with a boost/cut function, meaning this control is essentially a treble control or bright switch. Rotate it anti-clockwise for darker tone or the other way around for brighter sound, and use the Volume control to determine the output level of the effect.
