In January 1970, Led Zepplin performed at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London. During this legendary concert, master-guitarist Jimmy Page pushed the boundaries with a wide range of sounds and unprecedented dynamics. This was partly due to his amazing technique, but also the combination of Hiwatt amp heads and Marshall speaker cabinets that filled the entire hall with an abundance of tonal colors. The volume ranged from little more than a whisper to the sound of a Jumbo Jet taking off just above your head. With the RAH, Catalinbread has captured the sound and dynamics of that amazing performance.

RAH: unprecedented playing experience

Catalinbread were, of course, familiar with Led Zepplin's performance at the Royal Albert Hall, but hadn't really considered trying to produce a compact stomp box to recreate the sound. Until circuit designer Howard Gee decided to give it a go, that is. And who better, than the guy who is able to isolate, capture and recreate the very essence of famous amplifiers? In order to achieve the RAH-sound, Catalinbread began with the same three-band equalizer that Page had on his Hiwatt. This, in combination with a control for the master volume and another for the gain, allows you to adjust the sound your taste. Dynamic is the keyword of the RAH. Use the dynamics of your pick attack and the controls on your guitar to let this pedal show you what it can really do.
