This is an excellent piano for the ambitious amateur pianist / keyboard player who wants a worthy instrument for real piano parts. The CLP-525B is a Clavinova with a Black Walnut finish that offers a beautiful piano character in both sound and feel. One of the most important aspects of a digital piano is the samples, and this model features samples from a Yamaha CFIIIS concert grand. In order to add extra realism, smooth release and damper resonance simulate the kind of sound details you'd get when playing on a real acoustic concert grand piano.

Instead of strings, two stalwart speakers are in charge of the sound production. The built-in amplifier delivers two times 20 watts of power, which is sufficient for a dynamic piano sound. Of course, it's also possible to practise with headphones as well. There are two headphone connections available, so you can practice alone or with a partner! Additionally, the Graded Hammer 3 keyboard is the latest version on the tried-and-true keyboard from earlier Clavinova 39 models. Weighted keys make pianistic expression perfectly possible, and thanks to the synthetic ivory tops, you'll be able to enjoy excellent grip and playing comfort.

Technological characteristics

One of the biggest advantages of having a digital piano instead of an acoustic one is its weight and portability. This Yamaha only weights 43 kg, making it super easy to transport. Despite its light weight, you can rest assured that the housing is solidly constructed, whereby the support legs under the sides of the keyboard are worth mentioning. The CLP-525B has a 256-voice polyphony, so you don't ever have to worry about missing notes when playing complex parts, even if you're doing intense pedal work. 10 high-quality sounds are built in, and there are 50 songs available that you can use as practice material, with which you can make use of the included song book. When you're not playing you can protect the keyboard with the sliding keyboard cover.
