An upgrade is an affordable way to turn a small software package into a larger, more comprehensive one. For Ableton Live 9 Suite, there is a special Suite upgrade available just for Live Intro users (download). With it, you can count yourself among professional Ableton users and take advantage of a fast workflow. Create small clips with MIDI and/or audio data and place them on your timeline and switch them on or off during a live performance. This way, you can mute the drum and bass clips temporarily to create some real-time suspension in your trance. Of course, you can also apply effects such as filters to your clips for variation and dynamics. For best results, we recommend using this software with an Ableton controller.
New functions in Ableton Live 9 Suite
What exactly do you get with the Live Intro Suite upgrade? For starters, 54 GB of sounds, 9 instruments, 40 effects and an unlimited number of MIDI and audio tracks. You also get Max for Live, which is a modular system that enables you to program effects, among other things. Version 9 also allows you to record parameters from a MIDI controller and by using the Audio-to-MIDI function, you can extract individual notes from your audio files, which is great if you'd like to use a portion of an existing piece of music.

It also offers the option to work on a project using an external controller, which is equally handy for live applications as well.
