Allmänt
Not everyone has the luxury of having a roadie haul their equipment around, so it might be a good thing that this cajon isn't quite as big as a regular one. This allows you to easily take it with you to jam sessions or rehearsals, and ensures it doesn't take up too much space in your home. Despite it's modest size, however, this cajon still has an impressive sound. The Jam Birch Cajon features a powerful low-end when you strike the middle of the frontplate, and high-pitched slaps when you strike the top corners. Two sets of snare wires are mounted against the back of the striking surface to provide a crisp, responsive effect.
Sleek look
This instrument was designed in Europe, which might explain the choice of wood, as both the frontplate and the rest of the body are made of birch. Where the body received a dark finish, however, the frontplate shows off the beautiful natural structure of the wood. With its 38.1cm height and 26.7 x 26cm base, this model is a bit smaller than Meinl's other cajons.
