Allmänt
The CAJ1EB-M snare cajon is a hand percussion instrument that you play while seated on the cushion on top of the instrument. It is manufactured by Meinl in Spain, but it originates from Peru in South-America. The adjustable frontplate is made of ebony, while the resonating body is made of rubberwood, and both received a natural finish to show off the beautiful woodgrain. Cajons are quickly gaining popularity, as more and more people discover the fact that it's an excellent instrument for accompanying other musicians during smaller-scale performances.
Sound Port Ring, rubber feet and adjustment knob
Although most of the technology can be found inside the cajon, the outside also has some important features. On the back, for instance, you'll find the aptly named Sound Port Ring. This hole compresses the sound and allows it to escape into the great wide open. On the bottom of the cajon, you'll find special rubber feet, that keep your cajon from being damaged and prevent the sound distorting due to direct contact with the ground. Finally, on the side you will find your connection to the inner workings of the cajon: the adjustment knob.
Fine-tune your sound
The adjustability of the CAJ1EB's snare wires goes beyond merely 'on' and 'off', giving you more options than a regular cajon would. The aforementioned adjustment knob allows you to accurately fine-tune the sound of your cajon, by adjusting just how tight you want the snare wires to be.
