Like any other musician, bassists want to make the most of their instrument too. Sure, you can go out and buy an arsenal of pedals, or you can consider investing in the Orange 4 Stroke 500 bass amp head. Besides offering a transparent and clean sound, this amp head features a 4-band parametric equalizer, putting all the frequencies at your disposal and allowing you to increase or decrease them as you wish. You can also turn the compression function on this 500 Watt amp on or off using an optional foot switch, which makes it stage-ready!

High, low, anything goes

The remarkable EQ is the heart of the 4 Stroke 500, and enables you to tweak your sound with a wide spectrum of tones. It consists of two parts: the top row is the cut/boost department while the bottom row is for controlling the frequencies, namely: bass, low mid and treble. Essentially, it allows you access to tones from 40 Hz to 5.5 kHz, so you can fine-tune anything from the subtle nuances all the way up to the solid mids of your sound. Using the compression knob next to the volume control, whether manually or by means of a foot switch, you can add even more definition.

Handy design

Depending on your setup, this Orange speaker can really be used anywhere. It's designed to fit into a 19-inch rack or on top of a cabinet, or on its own in the studio. Connect the 4 Stroke using two SpeakOn outputs (min. 4 ohms) or via a balanced line-out directly into the mixer. Should you own a bass with active pickups, you can use the switch next to the input to lower the input volume by 6 dB. Finally, at just about 10 kilos, you can take this amp head with you wherever you go.
