Allmänt
As a journalist, you don't want to scare off the subject of your interview with cumbersome recording devices. The Olympus VP-10 voice recorder, which is the same size as a pen and can fit easily into your pocket, is the perfect solution. Thanks to its omnidirectional stereo mics and anti-noise filter, the VP-10 keeps unwanted sounds during recording to a minimum. If, upon entering or leaving an event, you think this might be worth recording, you can easily turn the recorder on and off with a slide switch.
VP-10 voice recorder: flexible recording
Before you begin, you can choose a recording format: PCM, MP3 or WAV, as well as the setting in which you'll be recording (seminar, meeting, dictation). During use in a meeting, for example, the VP-10 will record all voices at an equal volume level thanks to the speech balance - softer voices become louder and louder voices won't go above a certain level. If there's a portion you want to disconnect from the whole, you can do so using the file splitting function.
Great user-friendliness
Next to its moderate size, the VP-10 can hold its own and works for no less than 27 continuous hours (in MP3 mode at 128 kbps). You'd sooner run out of batteries (1 x AAA) than memory, seeing as the VP-10 has 4 GB of built-in storage capacity, which is the same as 1,620 hours of recording enjoyment. When the recorder is empty, charge it by plugging it into the USB port of your computer and back up its memory at the same time.
