Allmänt

Because a banjo is made up of a lot of separate components which all influence the sound of the instrument differently, they can be quite pricey. This can deter beginners in particular from ever learning this unique string instrument. That's why Fender has put together the Concert Tone 300 Banjo set. Make no mistake, even though this is a complete set, even experienced banjo players will surely appreciate the sound and quality it has to offer. As well as the Fender Concert Tone Banjo, this set also includes a gig bag, picks, strings, and a lesson book.

Construction

The head of Fender's most affordable Concert Tone Banjo is made by the well-known brand, Remo, and is held in place securely by eighteen sturdy steel hooks. The mahogany body is finished with a high-gloss lacquer and white binding, and you can use the built-in truss rod to adjust the mahogany neck to perfection. Last but not least, five Fender banjo machine heads ensure excellent tuning stability. Although it's not as embellished as some of the more expensive Fender models, the brand clearly spared no expense in the high-quality materials used.

Blue Grass Banjo

A banjo is a string instrument with a thin membrane stretched tightly over a round frame. This construction is what gives it its characteristic sound and ensures the energetic playing is transferred directly to the body. The banjo produces sounds that are loud and staccato. In some cases, like with this Blue Grass banjo, that sound is amplified by a resonator. Blue Grass banjos are also known for their extra fifth string and are played with finger and thumb picks.
