Maintaining quality with the MGP12X
Yamaha has integrated preamplifiers in the mixer with an innovative Darlington circuit. This makes use of a lot of complicated technology, but simply put, it works to keep components in a multi-layer system firmly in place, allowing for increased power from the signal source, and thus more dynamic range. The class A microphone preamps ensure excellent sound. Additionally, the MGP12X features a one-knob compressor, which minimises peaking in the signal without negatively influencing dynamics.
Normal line sources can of course be useful too, especially if you work with MP3s. Not every MP3 is equalized at the same level, so you can use the leveller on the specially integrated Stereo Hybrid channel to balance your levels. The addition of a priority ducker automatically lowers background music when a microphone is being used.
Road-proof mixer construction
The Yamaha MGP12X features a steel chassis, making it unbelievably robust. This allows it to take the the roughest use with the lowest chance of damage. The chassis has the additional function of cooling the internal components via the convection cooler. Furthermore, the mixer can easily be mounted in a 19-inch rack thanks to the integrated rack mount kit. A universal 100-240V power adapter gives you the ability to work with any AC source, even with slight voltage fluctuations.
