Here, you'll find various types of the mouth harp: a lamellophone instrument also known as the Jew's harp. The sound of a mouth harp is formed by a moving reed and by using your mouth as a resonance box. While nowhere near as well-known as a guitar, the instrument dates back centuries and is usually made of wood or metal. Some popular artists that have used mouth harps in their music are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Golden Earring, Leonard Cohen, Black Sabbath, The Who, Ennio Morricone and Aphex Twin. Mouth harps are also occasionally used in classical pieces.
