Get to Know the Neumann MT 48 Audio Interface
To offer a little background, it's worth knowing that Merging Technologies is based in Switzerland, where they specialise in designing and building high-end audio converters. Very recently, Merging Technologies was brought under in the Sennheiser umbrella, alongside Neumann.
The New Anubis
The MT 48 is the first offering from the new Merging Technologies and Neumann collaboration and takes the original Merging Anubis as its starting point. The biggest difference between the two models is that, alongside network ports, the MT 48 features a USB-C port, making it a touch more accessible for a lot of recording studios. This progressive interface can be expanded via ADAT and, if you really need to go big, then it can also be expanded via AES/Ravenna.
Hear Neumann Microphones Like Never Before
Neumann microphones already have a hefty reputation when it comes to their enormous dynamic range. By having a direct hand in the development of the MT 48, Neumann was handed the opportunity to design a signal path that finally lives up to the unrivalled quality of their microphones. Basically, when you stick it through the MT 48, the Neumann U 87 sounds like it's never sounded before.
