Allmänt
The VOX AGA150 is a versatile two-channel transistor and hybrid tube amplifier for the acoustic guitarist. In contrast with the Normal channel, the Tube Pre channel uses a 12AU7 preamp tube, resulting in a warm, natural sound. Both channels have a guitar and a mic input, as well as a high/low-impedance switch and phantom power. The AGA150 is equipped with a Bang & Olufsen ICE power power amp module for a fantastically bright, powerful sound.
Great sound variation with optimal ease of use
Each channel has its own 3-band EQ for making precise adjustments. You can use the Color knob to further adjust the total sound to fit your playing style; for example, you could add more sparkle when finger picking, or add warmth if you're strumming chords with a guitar pick. Add as little or as much reverb as you like, and add chorus for a nice, spacious effect.
Multifunctional
The AGA150 is equipped with stereo line inputs for connecting a keyboard or a multi-track recorder, for instance. You can also connect your CD/MP3 player or iPod to the AUX input and jam along with your favourite bands. A DI output allows you to send the signal directly to a mixing console or PA, and there's also a tuner output that delivers a constant signal to your tuning device, even if the All Mute function is on. Finally, there's an Anti-Feedback system for avoiding - you guessed it - feedback, making the VOX AGA150 the perfect stage monitor.

Omdat ik toch twijfelde over het benodigde volume in mijn rockband heb de AGA150 getest naast een VOX AC15C1 en dan hoor je een wereld van verschil.
Natuurlijk is de AC15C1 een hele andere versterker en bedoeld voor electrische gitaar, maar deze versterker is op de clean stand zeer goed bruikbaar voor mijn akoestische werk. (ik speel akoestisch in rocksongs, kan me voorstellen dat iemand met klassieke stijl niet gelukkig wordt van akoestisch op de AC15C1)
Het is zeer duidelijk hoorbaar dat de AC15C1 ( 559,- en 22kg) met zijn 15W buizen en 12 inch celestion veel meer volume en body heeft dan de AGA150 ( 539,- en 12 kg)
Omdat de electrische sound van de AC15C1 super is en akoestisch sound goed genoeg voor mijn solo akoestisch gigs, heb ik deze uiteindelijk aangeschaft.
Moraal van het verhaal, een perfecte versterker voor akoestisch en electrisch die in een rockband bruikbaar is heb ik niet kunnen vinden. (in de prijsklasse rond 500 euro)
Het blijft toch altijd een compromie. In de grotere settings kan de akoestische natuurlijk ook over de PA.
