Allmänt
The Fender American Standard Stratocaster already has a pretty fat sound, thanks to the new Custom Shop Fat '50s single-coil pickups. But are you looking for that extra gain and warm sound that only a humbucker can provide? Then this HSS - or 'Fat Strat' is the guitar for you. This instrument combines a vintage single-coil sparkle with the more modern, rougher sound of the Fender Diamondback humbucker. One of this guitar's exceptional features is that its body is made of ash instead of alder. Ash is a lightweight type of wood with a beautiful grain and an excellent balance between warmth and clarity. And would you like some more clarity and bite to your sound? Then you should certainly go for a maple neck instead of one with a rosewood fretboard.
A plethora of sounds for the versatile guitarist
The American Standard Stratocaster HSS has the Fender Diamondback humbucker in bridge position, providing a modern and yet bluesy tone that pairs excellently with the higher output and vintage character of the new Custom Shop Fat '50s single coils. From twangy cleans to high-gain distortion, this Fat Strat offers a large pallet of classic and modern sounds. Because the middle pickup is reverse-wound it ensures a hum-free sound in mid positions. The bottom tone knob is a no-load potentiometer; before it reaches position 10, you'll feel a click, and the potentiometer is removed from the tone circuit. This'll then give you a purer, more raw sound from the bridge and middle pickup.
A modern classic: vintage looks and contemporary playability
The American Standard Stratocaster HSS combines the looks and sound of a vintage Strat with a modern guitar's playability, thanks to its modern neck with 22 medium jumbo frets, a flatter 9.5-inch fretboard radius and a Bi-Flex truss rod. The modern construction allows for a deliciously low action without annoying rattles or dead notes while pressing up. Its 2-point tremolo bridge has a more supple feel and better tuning stability. The strings won't break easily thanks to the new design of the vintage-style bent saddles. The staggered tuners for the D, G, B and E string have been lowered, eliminating the need for a second string guide. The result is less excessive noise with more tone and sustain.
