Someone like Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, who made 'Over the Rainbow' into a huge hit, could be seen as a great ambassador for the ukulele. The Belgian company Stagg offers a complete family of ukuleles for anyone who has been inspired by such musicians to pick up the uke. One of the models they offer is the US60-S, which is a beautiful, light ukulele made from a variety of woods including spruce and mahogany. The instrument comes complete with a black nylon carry case.

About the ukulele

The Hawaiians have given the instrument the moniker 'jumping flea', not a very charming name for an instrument that is so much fun to play. It were Portuguese immigrants that first brought the machete (the ukulele's predecessor) to Hawaii, where it became the ukulele we know and love today. The ukulele is a valuable ingredient for any large arrangement, as it clearly cuts through the mix. This small instrument has great potential!
