For turntable aficionados, the Technics SL-1200 has always been the apex, even when it was no longer manufactured. All the more reason to rejoice that Technics has issued a brand new edition of the classic: the SL-1200G. The Technics SL-1200G is equipped with an aluminium and brass platter with a rubber finish, ensuring a stable base. A series of sensors and microprocessors prevent cogging, a problem caused by tiny motor vibrations and rotational speed fluctuations.

A powerful motor and other SL-1200 features

The SL-1200G features a powerful direct-drive motor - we'd expect nothing less from Technics - so your records will play at the desired speed in no time. The turntable's other features aren't to be frowned upon either. A start/stop button, adjustable speed (33, 45 or 78 RPM), easy pitch control, an advanced tonearm and a strobe; you name it, the SL1200G has it.

According the Technics themselves, the SL-1200G was designed for audio purists who value durability. However, that was also the original aim for the SL-1200, which turned out to be the perfect tool for DJing. In other words, DJs who thought the world ended when Technics ceased to manufacture the SL-1200 in 2010 can breathe easily again. In its new SL-1200G incarnation, the classic DJ turntable is making a powerful comeback!
