If you've ever worked with the mini Kaoss Pad 2, you'll remember how much fun that little Korg device was. It put a range of effects - particularly suitable for DJs - in the palm of your hand, all controllable by means of a touch pad. The new Korg Mini Kaoss Pad 2S dynamic effect processor strongly resembles that old device, but is equipped with a sampler. That means you can record your own samples (in WAV/MP3 format) to a microSD/microSDHC card, and use the Mini Kaos Pad 2S to play them back.

Basically, the S in Mini Kaoss Pad 2S stands for sampler. Of course you can use the effect processor's many controllable Kaoss effects to spice up your samples, and it's also possible to adjust playback speed and cuepoint. For playback modes, you have a choice of 'one shot,' 'gate' and 'loop,' so home-made drum loops won't pose any issues. It's even possible to sample your own voice, using the built-in microphone, or to record your entire performance as an audio file. As the mini Kaoss Pad 2S is powered by two AA batteries, you can use it wherever you go.

Comprehensive effect processor

Hundred different effects, including filters, modulation effects, delays, reverbs, loopers, vocoders and even synthesizers, open up a world of possibilities. Controlling the effects of a Korg Kaoss device has ever been, and always will be, exceedingly simple. Anyone can work with this effect processor! Another new feature worth mentioning is the 2S's FX Release, which is triggered as soon as you release the touch pad and automatically adds a delay, resulting in beautifully smooth transitions. Finally, the Mini Kaoss Pad 2S offers beat/BPM detection - effects that use that information are automatically synced with the source material.
