The second generation of these Latin Percussion bongos are shaped using Durian wood buffed to a high-gloss finish. The LP201AX-D bongos pack as much quality as the Classic Series but have lost 25% of the weight, meaning they're literally crafted for the road while the smoothly bevelled rims make for improved playing comfort show after show.
Sultry Sound
Durian wood is a South-East Asian species taken from the Durian fruit tree and is known to have a similar sound to that of mahogany. Also, since Durian fruit is widely considered a potent aphrodisiac, the durian wood used in these bongos has a similarly seductive and sultry response made for latin and swinging samba.
